What is Counselling?

  • Counselling is a talking therapy that allows people to talk about their problems and difficult feelings and emotions in a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment. 

  • Counselling is time for yourself and someone who will listen to what you have to say without giving advice or trying to fix you, but is empowering you to find the right keys to unlock your potential and improve your relationship with yourself and others.

  • Counselling will provide you with a space, just for you, to listen to you and help you understand difficult thoughts and feelings and find ways to deal with your emotional issues.

  • I will work with you on a warm, empathic and confidential basis so you can feel safe and free to open up and explore your thoughts and feelings, fears, hopes at your own pace and without expectation or judgement. 

  • It can feel daunting to share personal issues but you don’t have to feel ashamed or embarrassed about anything as I am not here to judge you.   I am not here to give you advice either and fix you, but to help you gain a different perspective on your problem, enhancing self-awareness and feeling empowered to find your own answers. Carl Rogers, who was a prominent psychologist, said “It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried.
